Warden Skills Empty
PostSubject: Warden Skills   Warden Skills EmptySun Jan 29, 2012 7:07 pm

As a Warden you are going to want to invest in Brair Shield, Power of the Wood Spirit, Enhanced Accuracy, Two Handed Weapon Mastery (note Briair Shield is a buff and Two Handed Weapon Mastery is a passive skill along with Enhanced Accuracy) those build a good base you can then work off of. When you are a higher lvl and have more TP, you will want to invest in Frantic Briar, Movement Restriction and Thorny Vines this will give u the abitility to have a good AoE- Frantic Briar it will also give u a stun-Movement Restriction and a DoT-Thorny Vines.

Wardens seem to have a lot of good skills which is great other then that you need ridiculousness amounts of TP but here are my opinions thus far.

Passive/Buff Skills to max
Briar Shield - Extra free damage
Savage Power - Use this before summoning your pet to give it a permanent boost to its damage
Heart of the Oak - Amazing defense boost
Two-Hand weapon mastery - more dmg = more dmg
Natural Lifelife - helps pet survive
Power of the Oak - even more damage = more dmg

Passive/Buff skills that are debatable
Enhanced Accuracy - 5% at level 50 doesn't seem like a lot and missing never seems to be a huge issue so not much use here.
Elven Guidance - For only lasting 15 seconds it doesn't seem like this skill could really recover all that much mp
Explosion of Power - I haven't gone into instances yet on Wriggle but I will be maxing this later when I will have a use for Cooldown skills

Attack Skills
Power of the Wood Spirit - not the best damage but very spammable
Thorny Vines - not sure about this one at the moment because generally it will only get 1-3 tics off on the mob before it dies so might be better in boss runs.
Frantic Briar - Very nice aoe I have noticed a bit of a lag time when trying to use it right after you just used it. Sorta like they forget to remove the GCD when they fixed it. Still your most solid aoe option
Cross Chop - Second aoe and does less damage but instant cast. My issue is it doesn't seem to hit the targets reliably, I have often thrown it out to only hit 1-2 mobs out of the 7-8 that are attacking me.

Other Skills
Movement Restriction/Banishment - Both these skills do similar things difference is the first stops movement while still being able to take damage while the second prevents them from attacking but can't take damage. From what I can tell Movement restriction doesn't break on damage which makes it like mages lightning skill sounds good but haven't tried it out myself. I did get banishment though which has its uses in crowd control in instances (For example those 3 giant mobs at the end of HotDL, you could banish one and only need to deal with 2 demon seals at a time which takes a HUGE strain off of the healers) Problem with movement restriction is that Wardens are a primarily melee based class so other then crowd control which banishment does better at I'm not sure of its use.
Elven Prayer - Not sure about this... Currently I don't need to heal my pet much but it does seem to help out a bit

Haven't finished getting my elites so wont comment on those yet but also note I haven't really tried any of the pets other then Chirion as I am a wd/s. Also the reason I recommend HotO and PotO is sometimes you may be in a situation where you need more bulk instead of damage, after all a dead person does no damage. Also I thought HotO might be better for use in siege though I haven't played with it much. If you arn't using HotO as your main pet buff though I would just set it to level 50 until you decide you might want it higher.
